Top Of The Trot Ups: Badminton Fashion

Badminton bound this year? Check out our top Trot Up outfits!
One of biggest events in the UK’s Equestrian calendar; Badminton Horse Trials boasts a rich history, dating back to 1949 when the first trials took place. Since then it has become a hive of Equestrian sporting success, seeing many top competitive riders make their name in the Eventing world.

Aside from the exciting action on course, Badminton fashion is something of a competitive sport itself! Although the main focus of the Trot-Up is the physical inspection of the horse, each year the presentation of horse and rider during the Trot-Up is paramount and is an important occasion for spectators, with the paparazzi out in full force as horse and rider hit the ‘catwalk’!

We’ve put together some of our favourite Trot-Up outfits, as well as pulling together our own Badminton ensemble.

Georgie Strang 2018
Badminton Fashion and leopard print aren’t exactly synonymous…but we can all agree that Georgie Strang’s leopard print mini teamed with a classic black polo neck took the Trot-Up by storm!

Georgie finished the outfit with a timeless Hicks & Brown Suffolk Fedora and a pair of sophisticated Fairfax & Favor Kensington Suede Heeled Ankle Boots.

Laura Collett 2017
When it comes to country fashion, you really can’t go wrong with a signature Holland Cooper cape…one tweed statement piece that is guaranteed to leave a trail of envious eyes!

Laura Collett paired her cape with some pristine white skinnies and the oh so glamorous Fairfax & Favor Ladies Amira Over The Knee Boots.

What to wear at Badminton Horse Trials this year?
We’ve put together our own outfit for Badminton Horse Trials, worthy of the Trot-Up or equally perfect for spectating!

We’ve got for a quintessentially country feel, giving it a modern twist with a cute tweed mini skirt and some vibrant suede driving shoes.

Gibson & Birkbeck are the brand of the moment when it comes to country shirts, we just love their range of illustrated patterns and the quality and fit of their shirts leaves nothing to be desired. We’ve chosen the Gibson & Birkbeck Signature Long Sleeve Pheasant Shirt this time, which sits nicely with the Holland Cooper Ladies Chelsea Mini Skirt.

On to the accessories; we’ve cinched in the waist with the Mackenzie & George Clifton Cinch Belt and added the luxurious Clare Shaw Ladies Narrow Turf War Scarf to bring out the warm tones in the Pheasant shirt. Adding some serious arm candy, we’ve gone for the understated yet classy Fairfax & Favor Madison Croc Leather Handbag featuring a Chanel-esque chain shoulder strap. We’ve also added a flash of colour with a pair of Fairfax & Favor Ladies Henley Driving Shoes. Finally, a casual pair of sunnies perched on top of the head in hope of some Vitamin D!
