It first began when the illustrious boot-maker Monsieur Chamot produced his first rubber boot to meet the demanding needs of the workingmen of Normandy. Chamot combined the traditions of master cobblers with his innovative new techniques, namely vulcanisation. Chamot produced high-quality rubber boots, which were entirely waterproof, warm, comfortable and most importantly, engineered with a grip sole that could withstand the turbulent weather conditions of Normandy. Unsurprisingly, the boots were an instant success. To this very day the premium range of leather-lined Le Chameau Chasseur wellingtons are still being crafted in the original workshop Chamot worked in all those years ago.
Not only are Le Chameau boots expertly crafted they deliver unbeatable protection against the elements, the Vierzonord boots able to keep feet at a comfortable temperature even if the outside temperature is as low as -25C. During the daily battles with mud and rain that would damage even the most durable leathers, Le Chameau boots reign supreme.
